SENIOR RESEARCH SCIENTIST – Pulp and Paper Applications

Key function of the position is to develop new innovative hydrocolloid based solutions for pulp and paper applications. The Senior Research Scientist will participate in concept ideation and will manage projects from lab to full scale operation at our customers. The Senior Research Scientist will also develop our analytical capabilities to further deepen our application knowhow and product structure function understanding in pulp and paper applications. Development of new products and concepts are done in close collaboration with our customers. Contacts to customers and CMC Sales & Marketing team globally are part of daily activities.

From the applicant we expect:

  • Minimum Master’s degree of pulp and paper chemistry/technology, polymer chemistry/technology or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years work experience with pulp, paper or board industry
  • Strong knowledge of paper and board manufacturing, converting processes and barrier technologies
  • Strong knowledge of chemistry (e.g. organic, applied or physical chemistry) and rheology
  • Strong analytical and research capability
  • Proven project management experience
  • Fluent English, both written and verbal
  • Good communication, interaction and team working skills
  • Strong can do attitude and ability to identify opportunities for improvement
