Solution Owner for HR Solutions, Aalto University, Espoo 

As a solution owner, you are responsible for end-to-end management of Aalto University’s HR related applications from needs identification to service retirement. You ensure successful implementation as well as delivery of business benefits. You are responsible for the development of HR application portfolio in close co-operation with Aalto University’s HR services and you report to both IT and HR.

 

Aalto is currently implementing Workday HCM suite for our master for HR data and processes. We expect to go live in May 2019. You will have a key role in utilizing the full potential of Workday.

HR applications are acquired as SaaS. You will guide vendors’ work and develop our vendor relationship management further. In addition, you cooperate with different stakeholders, such as decision makers, other system owners/administrators, project managers and technical specialists.

Our personnel is our key asset, so your work in streamlining our HR processes will have a direct impact on the results of Aalto University. Although you are responsible of your own area of work, we offer you support and coaching when you feel the need for it. In addition, the position offers a great opportunity to become an expert in managing Workday, the leading HCM suite in the world.

 

What we are looking for:

We expect you to follow the field actively and participate in technology providers’ community in order to create ideas how to utilize the full potential of Workday. Passion for getting hands-on experience on the HR solutions and master data is a must as well as courage to challenge existing ways of operation and processes.

 

We expect you to be experienced in:

  • Modern SaaS HCM solutions.
  • End-to-end HR process and solution understanding with an end user value driven approach.
  • Understanding of master data in service production.
  • Delivering excellent results through collaboration.

 

We also value:

  • Experience in Workday HCM suite.
  • Experience in participating in implementation of a modern SaaS HCM solution
  • Project and change management skills
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking, and ability think out of the box.
  • Excellent English skills, while Finnish language skills are an advantage
  • Academic degree in relevant field

 

As your personal qualities:

You have excellent social and cooperation skills. You are able to communicate smoothly both with technical and business-minded co-workers and collaborators, and sell your ideas to decision makers. In order to succeed in our environment, you also need to be good in accommodating the various needs of different stakeholders, be able to prioritize them and also be good in communicating your views in a diplomatic, yet confident manner. You should be able to endure uncertainty and handle confusing situations. The responsibilities in the position require analytical skills, conceptual thinking and working in systematic, persistent and responsible manner.

More than anything, you need to be passionate about your field of work and to be enthusiastic on constantly innovating and learning new – much more than a long experience on the field.
